Ainsworth Municipal Golf Course is located just west of Ainsworth on Hwy 20. A fairly flat course with narrow fairways may seem benign to the golfer at first, but the greens provide a stern test due to their crowned nature. The rough is fairly forgiving, providing golfers an opportunity to recover from wayward shots. The course offers a few memorable shots, including the tee shot on the par-3 2nd hole and the dogleg 5th hole which is rated the toughest hole. Enjoy your time at Ainsworth Golf Course!

Fox Hollow Golf Course

Fox Hollow stretches across valleys, ridges, and mild slopes on the east side of Sutton. It is named for the population of native foxes that roam the area. The course has character, being defined by trees, ponds and some mild elevation changes. The 9th tee is the highest point on the course with a grand view. Three holes are noted for their challenge. The 6th is one of the few 600 yard par 5's in the state. A pond gives the 7th some teeth. The 1st can be tough if you decide to cut the corner on the dogleg. A new pond was also added on the west side of #3 fairway. Trees, hills, and out of bounds await a less than perfect effort.

Lakeview Golf Course

Lakeview rides along two ridges high above the southeast corner of Lewis and Clark Lake. The land is owned by the Army Corps of Engineers who used massive amounts of dirt from the site to build Gavins Point Dam. Almost every fairway is narrow, steeply sloped, and heavily wooded along one side or the other with oak trees. Most of the greens are small with sharp drop-offs. The picturesque 5th hole looks out onto Lewis and Clark Lake and the view is worth the price of admission. Enjoy this treasure of Nebraska Golf!

Plainview Country Club is a fine layout that has served as a place of leisure and recreation for local residents since 1925. The club owns and operates an adjacent campground, picnic area, and fish pond. You'll find level lies in fairways, though there are some drops and rises. The dogleg third changes in elevation and its fairway twists and bends uphill around a deep tree lined pit that runs up to the green. A variety of trees and seven sand traps add some difficulty to the course.

Thornridge Golf Course

Thornridge is a two-level layout and named after the thorn trees found throughout the course. Five holes lie on the lower level, on the upper level and four holes are bi-level.

A winding creek crosses four fairways. The creek is overgrown with wildflowers and long grass. Some of the rough is seeded, but much of it has been left natural. The midsize greens are full and smooth. Difficult blind shots are found on the bi-level holes.

The 5th and 9th fairways each run to ledges 210 yards out. From the ledge, there is a 15 foot drop to a continued narrow fairway below. You must decide whether to lay up or hit long and risk losing your ball if you miss the lower fairway.

Thornridge is one of the best nine hole layouts in Nebraska!
